It gives me immense pride and privilege to welcome you to Govt. Tibbi College & Hospital (GTCH), Patna — the first Government Unani Medical College of India, established in the year 1926. For nearly a century, this prestigious institution has remained dedicated to the promotion of the Unani System of Medicine through quality education, healthcare services, research, and community outreach.
GTCH has played a historic role in preserving and strengthening the rich heritage of Unani Medicine while continuously adapting itself to the changing needs of modern medical education and healthcare delivery. Today, the institution stands as a recognized centre of academic excellence with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, modern teaching facilities, clinical training infrastructure, and dedicated healthcare services.
Our institution is committed to providing quality teaching and training in the Unani System of Medicine (USM) and developing GTCH as a Centre of Excellence and Model Unani College. We are continuously working towards academic advancement, modernization of infrastructure, strengthening hospital services, promoting research activities, and introducing innovative healthcare practices for the benefit of students and patients alike.
The college hospital serves a large number of patients every day through its OPD and IPD services, offering affordable and accessible healthcare facilities including regimental therapies, diagnostic services, and distribution of medicines. Our dedicated faculty members, healthcare professionals, researchers, and supporting staff are sincerely contributing towards maintaining high standards in academics and patient care.
As we proudly celebrate the Centenary Year (1926–2026) of Govt. Tibbi College & Hospital, it is a moment of great honour and reflection for all of us associated with this historic institution. The glorious journey of 100 years reflects the dedication, vision, and hard work of generations of teachers, physicians, students, alumni, administrators, and well-wishers who contributed immensely towards the growth and recognition of this institution.
We envision GTCH emerging as a globally respected institution in the field of traditional and integrated healthcare education, research, and clinical practice. Our focus remains on producing competent healthcare professionals equipped with knowledge, ethics, compassion, and a commitment to serve humanity.
